In the good, old days, children were caught up in creative, interactive games like board games, card games, ‘ayo’, ‘ten-ten’, etc. However, today, the average child is stuck behind the screen, caught up in the virtual world of technology.
To make matters worse, as the child progresses beyond the nursery level, focus gradually shifts from creativity and emphasis is placed on the theories believed to be needed to pass the all-important examinations.
This has resulted in our certificate driven society getting flooded with an increasing number of unemployed and underemployed graduates who don’t have the creative edge needed to succeed in today’s dog-eat-dog world.
We have therefore set up an ‘I CREATE’ club in select primary schools. Ours is a club which is structured to sharpen children’s inner creativity by encouraging them to take the ordinary things found within their everyday environment and come up with extraordinary creations.
Feel free to come along for the ride as we continue our creative journey with our special little ones…
